Sunday Plus-Size Pattern Roundup #16
If only every week was as busy as last week in the plus-size sewing pattern world, with Elbe Textiles releasing the Page Dress and indie darling Closet Case Patterns releasing 3 patterns in their new extended size range! This week sees Workroom Social enter the plus-size sewing market, having extended the size-range on their Claryville Jeans (see below)! The other patterns this week are of varying ages, and are all available to at least a 50″ hip
Number 1, Claryville Jeans

The Claryville Jeans from Workroom Social have just been released up to size 28 (or 60″ hip)!
I’ve got a pair of these jeans mostly cut out, and now just need to find the time to sew them up!
Number 2, Lichen Duster

The Lichen Duster from Sew Liberated is available up to size 30 (or 57″ hip) and is the largest size so far released by Sew Liberated
There are some great photos of the coat worn in versatile ways (including as a wrap dress of sorts). Check out these versions from Meg and Jacqueline!
Number 3, Winslow Culottes

The Winslow Culottes from Helen’s Closet are available up to a 58″ hip
For some inspiration check out What Lydia Made, Sew Anemone, Crafting a Rainbow, Cookin’ and Craftin’, and Emotothethird!
Number 4, Autumn Dress

And: Betty Top

The Betty Top from Schnittchen is available up to a size UK26 or 55.91″ hip
Check out this gorgeous short-sleeve version from Garichild, which is how I originally discovered the pattern!

Heavyweight Viscose, Sculthorpe Pants

Here’s a pair of medium-weight linen/viscose Sculthorpe Pants which Leila and I released recently through Muna and Broad

Sunday Plus-Size Pattern Roundup #15
This week, there’s been a number of new releases for plus-size sewing patterns! There’s 6 patterns included in the roundup this week, 4 of them brand new!
It seems that a lot of the ‘patterns released this week’ blog posts have died off since Helen’s Closet and the Curvy Sewing Collective are no longer rounding up the latest releases. Please send me through any new patterns that are available in at least a 50″ bust or hip (size chart, not finished measurement) for inclusion in the weekly roundups!
Number 1, Page Dress

The Page Dress from Elbe Textiles was released this week!
The dress has B cup and C/D cup options and is available up to a 54″ bust and 56.3″ hip
With a plain front and a tucked front option, this dress can be as involved as you choose!
Check out the dress on @cook_sew_love, on Lauren from Elbe, and on and on me!
Number 2, The Rome Collection

Closet Case Patterns have released their Cielo, Pietra & Fiore patterns in plus-size! Buy them as a bundle on sale here until the 13th of March.
The new size range for Closet Case goes up to a size 30, or 58″ bust and 61″ hip. To find this info on their website, select ‘details’ because they don’t include the size details of the extended sizing in the images (as they do for their original size range).
Number 3, Hove Jacket

The Hove Jacket from In The Folds
This jacket is available up to a size J, which is a 51 5/8″ bust and 54 3/4″ hip.
I’ve always found Emily’s ease to be very generous in the plus sizes, and I’ve rarely made the size J (although that’s the size I’d fall in to based on my hips).
Number 4, Cozy PJ’s

Cozy PJ’s from Laela Jeyne Patterns
This classic pyjama pattern includes options for sleepshirt or top and bottom (as well as variations for short and long sleeve).
Available up to 58″ bust and 58″ hip

Sunday Plus-Size Pattern Roundup #14
Next Sunday is going to be quite a busy week for new plus-size sewing patterns, so here are a few older patterns that may have fallen from your memory and one of the extended-size-range patterns from Merchant & Mills.
All of these patterns are available up to at least a 50″ hip (and they generally go higher).
Number 1, Tacara

The Tacara from Seamwork
Check out this ‘Same Pattern, Different Bodies’ post on the CSC which shows a lot of my favourite plus-size sewists wearing the pattern! Also check out Shannon’s plum Tacara here, this orange version from Sara of Fabric_scraps, this make from Michelle of Clayhen and this patterned Tacara from AshBetteridge.
Number 2, Chandler Trousers

The Chandler Trousers from Untitled Thoughts
Available up to “size 16″ which has a 58” hip
Number 3, Poppy Bralette

The Poppy Bralette from House Morrighan
Available up to a 61.7″ H/I cup bust
Number 4, The 101 Trouser

The 101 Trouser from Merchant & Mills
Part of Merchant & Mills’ new plus-size range, there are available up to a size 28 (or 57.5” Hip). They’re drawstring trousers with a false fly and side pockets and are designed to sit on the waist.
I know lots of you are thinking blissfully of an approaching summer but I’ve had less than a handful of 30c+ (86F+) days and I’m already done and I’m planning ahead for my winter wardrobe! Since Christchurch is pretty mild, maybe my winter wardrobe and your spring wardrobe are the same thing!
Do you like to sew a season ahead (or at least be planning the sewing for your upcoming season)?

Sunday Plus-Size Pattern Roundup #13
This week’s plus-size pattern roundup has a winter theme if you live somewhere mild like I do, or a spring/autumn theme if you live somewhere less mild!
All of the patterns here are available up to either a 50″ bust or 50″hip (preferably both)
Number 1, Slouchy Cardigan

The Slouchy Cardi from Peppermint Magazine (AKA In The Folds)
This free pattern is available up to a size K or 45.5″ (116cm) waist and a 62″ (158cm) finished hip.
Number 2, Sculthorpe Pants

The Sculthorpe Pants from Muna and Broad
These pants are available from a 46-71.5″ hip and have just been launched by Leila and I!
Number 3, Rushcutter Dress

Rushcutter Dress from In The Folds
In The Folds patterns are available up to a 51.5″ bust and 54.5″ hip and drafted for B-cup. View A has 3/4 raglan sleeves and in denim makes for a great winter dress to pair with stockings!
Number 4, Fuller Cardigan

The Fuller Cardigan from Cashmerette
The Fuller cardigan is available up to size 32 which goes to a 62″ bust and 62″ hip.
I wasn’t crazy about the cardigan when it came out- I thought both had quite strong vintage vibes. But Cashmerette recently posted a tutorial on how to hack the pattern in to a sweater!

Viscose Tweed Sculthorpe Pants

These are the new Sculthorpe Pants that Leila and I have released through Muna and Broad! We’ve been testing out a few different narrow leg pants options because we know that not everyone loves wide-leg pants!
-
Gingham Torrens Box Top

I made this Torrens Box Top in
cosy ‘Savvy Gingham’ from Miss Maude. The fibre content is 88% Cotton, 7% Linen, 5% Wool and it’s a delight.I thought I could squeeze a long-sleeve version out of this fabric, but was foiled due the narrow width of this fabric.

Sunday Plus-Size Pattern Roundup #12
This week the Sunday plus-size sewing pattern has a little ‘weekend theme’ with patterns that might be great for a summer weekend! I was thinking about a trip to the beach with a me-made swimsuit & maxi-dress, maybe gardening in some overalls, and drinking a tasty beverage (and eating little cubes of cheese) in a jumpsuit!
All of these patterns are available at least to a 50″ bust or hip (but preferably both) and these roundups selfish contain only patterns that I would like to make myself!
Number 1, Laminaria Swimsuit

The Laminaria Swimsuit from Tuesday Stitches
Available up to a size 24 or 55″ hip
Check out some great photos from the pattern testers here or this great review from Wis for inspo.
Number 2, Wide-Strap Maxi Dress

Wide-Strap Maxi Dress from Peppermint Sewing School by Elbe Textiles (this is a free pattern)!
For inspiration check out; Christmas red linen from Katie_Parrott, green linen from TheLadyWhoLunches, white and black scribbles from MaggieWix,
Number 3, Olive Jumpsuit

The Olive Jumper from Untitled Thoughts
Available up to a 58″ hip
Number 4, Thelma Jumpsuit

The Thelma Jumpsuit from Merchant & Mills
Available up to 57.5″ hip and was released recently as part of the Merchant & Mills extended size range.

Sunday Plus-Size Pattern Roundup #11
This roundup features a jacket from Schnittchen patterns which is available
Number 1, Thayer Jacket

Thayer Jacket from Grainline Studios
One of the 2 first patterns to be released from Grainline as part of their extended sizing.
I love the pink cord sample but other inspiring makes include Jen’s ‘Loon Watch’ Thayer, this other pink cord version and the #grainlinethayer and #thayerjacket hashtags
Number 2, Somerfield Coat

The Somerfield Coat from Elbe Textiles
Check out the Somerfield coat from Katie of Sew Altered Style, and the hashtag on instagram!
Number 3, Nathalie Bodysuit

The Nathalie Bodysuit from Untitled Thoughts
Number 4, Ashton Top

Ashtop top from Helen’s Closet
Check out this Ashton from Alisha, the reviews of the Ashton Top over on PatternReview.com and also take a look at the hashtag on instagram for some plus-sizespiration
Plus the Amy Parka
This jacket is available up to a 55″ hip (which isn’t especially size-inclusive) but more than that, Schittchen patterns continues to release patterns which aren’t available in their full size range. I’ve included it here as an additional pattern because I think it could be a worthwhile plus-size rain jacket (if you happen to fit in the size range).

The Amy Parka from Schnittchen
Check out this parka from @inselschwestern, this bright orange parka from @Garichild and the hashtag on insta

Sunday Plus-Size Pattern Roundup #10
Number 1, Kabuki Tee

Kabuki Tee from Paper Theory
Check out the hashtag #KabukiTee on Instagram for some infpiration!
Number 2, Factory Dress

The Factory Dress from Merchant & Mills
Merchant & Mills put a call out late last year for a model for their extended size range, their new sizes go up to size UK28 (or 57.5″ hip)
Number 3, Collins Top

Collins Top from In The Folds
What’s slowed me down from making this top (which comes with sleeved and sleeveless options) is the knowledge that I’d probably need to do a FBA.
Check out this amazing version from @meanwhilemaker, this Collins from Applefranca, this dramatic raw silk Collins from Tasha and the #collinstop hashtag on insta.
Number 4, Torrens Box Top

The Torrens Box Top from Muna and Broad
Check out this double-gauze version from Meg, this review on the Curvy Sewing Collective, this linen version from Jenna and this lovely version from @sewsweetprints
