Since I started a public Instagram account in January, I’ve decided to go in boots and all and commit myself to Me Made May.
In addition to wearing at least 1 handmade item per day this May, I
will also finish all my current works-in-progress items (which is
shamefully large).
I’ve enjoyed following along with the Me Made May hashtags in previous years, even though I never took part myself. And although it’s not a photo-challenge, lots of folks do take photos of their outfits for a little bit of public accountability. There’s lots of amazing pictures in the following hashtags from previous years: #MMMay #MeMadeMay2018 #MeMadeMay18 #MeMadeMay17 #MeMadeMay2017
What is Me-Made-May and how does it work? From Zoe’s website: Me-Made-May is a challenge designed to encourage people who make their own clothes to develop a better relationship with their handmade wardrobe. You set the specifics of your own challenge to make it suitable and useful for YOU. However, one very common pledge is for a participant to aim to wear one self-stitched or refashioned garment each day for the duration of May.
