Not content to leave well enough alone, I went on a sewing adventure to morph the lovely fitting, set-in-shoulder, bust-darted Campsie Top into the sackiest of dresses!
Partly an excuse to use and photograph the September Patreon Campsie Sleeve bonus pattern, and partly an attempt to dupe that viral Zara Dress from 2019, I cut into this fabric (which I got 6m of for $18) with absolute abandon.
I wanted to prove to myself that overthinking the proportions and planning out the bits were not so important for a breezy sack, and I problem-solved my way into this dress, which I am surprisingly into.
I approximated the lengths of the various sections, holding fabric up to my body to compare. The weight of the skirt section ended up pulling everything down a bit lower than I’d originally intended, but in the spirit of not overthinking, I don’t care.
